Commitment to accessibility and inclusion

At Alberta Blue Cross®, we believe that accessibility and inclusion are essential to stay true to our social purpose and deliver on our mission to enable and empower all Albertan's—regardless of ability—to take charge of their well-being and live their best lives.

Equal opportunity

Removing the barriers that prevent 13 per cent of Albertan's with varying degrees of permanent physical or mental disabilities from accessing essential information, products and services, we also meet the needs of the aging population and people with temporary or situational disabilities. Preserving the dignity and supporting independence of every Albertan.

Our standard

To make our websites welcoming and usable for every person regardless of age, stage or ability, we use standards set in place from the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Using these guidelines allows users who are equipped with assistive technologies, like screen reading software, screen enlargement software and alternative keyboard input devices, to have the same experience because we know that one size does not fit all.
